Frequently Asked Questions

How do I save a picture to my computer?

If you are using MS Internet Explorer, left-click on the thumbnail image. In the next window, left-click on the words "Download Hi-Res Picture". You will now see the top, left corner of a very large picture in your browser. Right-click on the picture, and choose "Save Picture As ..." from the little menu in the middle of the screen. Your system will show the file name as something like "Feature-03-21120l.original". Write a new name for the file (something you can easily remember, or at least delete the dot before the word "original", e.g. Feature-03-21120loriginal) and choose a directory. Click OK.

Why are the pictures so small?

If the pictures that you download seem too small, it may be that you are downloading the wrong version. Every picture on the website is available in three sizes: the thumbnail picture is purely a navigational aid. The layout version (about 15 centimetres wide on most screens) is mainly intended to help you inspect the picture. It is not suitable for print use, but could be used in a website. The original version (instructions above) is a large file suitable for most print users.

What do I do if I forget my user name or password?

Please telephone your area sales representative and ask for help. Alternatively you can contact us by e-mail. Every e-mail advisory from dpa contains a "reply-to" address. Please tell us:
(1) the name of your company
(2) your name and your position in the company
(3) the e-mail address where you normally receive Illustrated Features advisories.

Am I allowed to use features from previous issues?

Definitely. By clicking on the website link to the current and previous year, you can see a listing of all previous issues that are still available. Many of the features are timeless, and we aim to keep each issue of Illustrated Features available to you for at least 12 months.
